Leeds United star happy after exacting revenge

Leeds United defender Liam Cooper has claimed that his side wanted revenge over Brighton after his team claimed an impressive 2-0 win over the Championship title contenders during the weekend saying

“We wanted it more in the end and the team spirit is unbelievable,” he said. “It is one of the best I have been involved in. To a man, we are there for each other and it is great to be part of.

“We spoke before the game and said that we owed them [Brighton] one. We got a bad result there and it hurt us and we wanted to go out and get the three points back and we did everything we could and we came away with it.”

The Whites had tasted defeat against the second placed Championship side earlier in the season and successfully gained revenge through a brace from the talismanic Chris Wood during the weekend.

Though Gary Monk’s side are unlikely to finish the season in one of the two automatic promotion places, this season they are very likely to be participating in the promotion playoffs and have a chance of returning to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.
