Jan Vertonghen believes that Tottenham will be missing the best player in the Premier League while ace Harry Kane is out injured.
“It’s a blow, of course,” said Vertonghen. “Harry is for me the best player in the Premier League. He’s a miss for us but we do have a lot of options and we saw that against Millwall, and when he was out before in October I think.”
The 23-year-old Kane will spend four to six weeks on the sidelines after having suffered an ankle injury during his team’s 6-0 demolition of League 1 club Millwall during the FA Cup last weekend.
In addition to being without their star forward against Southampton, the North London club will likely have to make do without his services for their games against Burnley, Swansea and Bournemouth.
For Tottenham fans, the loss is certain to be a blow. During the seven weeks which he was injured earlier in the season, the team went six games without a win.
