Everton boss Ronald Koeman slams Romelu Lukaku

Everton manager Ronald Koeman is unhappy with the attitude of Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian international declared that he wants to leave the club.

Lukaku claimed earlier in the week that the Toffees did not match his ambitions as he wishes to play in the UEFA Champions League. Despite being unhappy with his star forward, Koeman however insisted that he will not be dropped from the squad.

“Of course I’m not happy about that interview because first if Everton is not a club with a lot of ambition I wouldn’t be the manager,’ Koeman said.

“The second – and I spoke with Rom this morning – is I know it’s difficult, if you’re a player, prepare yourself to play good and score goals. He is one of the best.”

Based on this situation, it is now likely that Lukaku will leave the Merseyside club this summer. Though Koeman will lose a brilliant talent, the club will cash in heavily from his sale.
