Arsenal reportedly target Everton star; Gunners hoping for “N’Golo Kante” effect

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a swoop for Everton defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye, who they hope will have an N’Golo Kante effect on the club.

Since arriving in the Premier League in 2015, Gueye has impressed. He spent his first season at Aston Villa and despite the club being relegated during his time there; his positive performances earned him a move to Everton.

The signature of Gueye could help Arsenal in terms of offering the club extra defensive reinforcements, especially given that their defense is often guilty of being fragile. The Gunners are also in need of a player who can win possession in the middle of the field and Gueye may be the answer.

Arsenal lost out to Chelsea in signing N’Golo Kante last summer and will face competition to sign Gueye from clubs from Italy and Spain according to The Sun.

The Toffees signed the Senegalese international for £7.1 million have him contracted with the club until 2020 so they will likely cash in should they choose to sell Gueye.
