West Ham set to agree surprise deal with 30-year-old

According to reports, goalkeeper Adrian is set to stay at West Ham beyond the end of this season.

The Sun have claimed that the Hammers have decided to use the extension clause in the 30-year-old’s contract, which will now see him remain with the club until the summer of 2018.

Many had expected Adrian to leave the club in search of first team football after he lost the starting position at the Hammers to Darren Randolph.

Adrian played the first 11 matches of the current Premier League campaign before being dropped and has not played in the League since. He has also appeared just once for the East London club this year.

Nonetheless, it now appears that Slaven Bilic sees Adrian as part of his plans for next season. Adrian was certainly one of the more impressive Hammers players last season, which will make Bilic confident that he will provide strong competition to Randolph for the starting position.
