Koeman not ready to take a chance on midfielder’s fitness

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted that there is a possibility that Muhamed Besic may not play at all for the Toffees this season.

Besic suffered a knee injury during pre-season which has kept him out action until now.  However the Bosnian international has now returned to light training though he is not 100% fit.

There was speculation that Besic may return to action before the end of the season, however Koeman has chosen to be cautious about the players recovery and admits that he may only return to action next season.

“Mo Besic is doing well, he is doing some tests for his fitness, and is part of every training session,” Koeman said, “He needs to do some more steps and then play for the under-23’s. I don’t know if there will be an opportunity for him to be really fit and play for the first team before the end of the season.”
