Leeds United manager Gary Monk has admitted that his side where lucky to beat Birmingham City on Friday evening.
A double from in-form striker Chris Wood and an Alfonso Paredza goal gave Monk’s men a win which leaves them a point behind third placed Huddersfield. Though Monk was pleased that his side won, he did admit that luck helped them.
“We are happy with the three points, but we were second best in the first half and at the start of the second half, which we were disappointed with,” Monk told LUTV.
The Whites once again showed character during the win and will hope that their good form can take them to the Premiership next season.
Wood once again showed his class and has proven that he is a player worthy of competing at the highest level. Should Leeds not win promotion, the chances are high that a Premier League team will inquire about him during the summer.
