Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has told the Mirror that Dele Alli was disappointed by his misconduct during the North London club’s Europa League match against KAA Gent on Thursday.
Alli has been criticize by many after he earned a red card during Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Gent at the Wembley Stadium, which saw his side lose 3-2 on aggregate and eliminated from the Europe’s second tier club competition.
Ali was sent off in the 39th minute after a dangerous high tackle on Brecht Dejaegere. Kane revealed that the 20-year-old Alli is disappointed by his performance during the match but praised the midfielder for the great form he has otherwise displayed for Spurs throughout this season.
“He is obviously gutted and feels like he has let us down a bit,” Kane told The Mirror. “Dele will learn from this. Obviously in European football when tackles like that you are more likely to get a red card. But Dele has been great for us this season.”
