Frustrated attacker desperate to become a Liverpool regular

Anyone that has watched Liverpool in the last two seasons will know that Divock Origi has tremendous potential. He’s a great player in the system, and he’s proven to have his days where he is just lethal in front of goal. He’s streaky, but aren’t most younger players anyways?

The Belgian, speaking to the Liverpool Echo, told them that he has a had a season of ups and downs, and that he wants “to make it hard for the manager to leave me out.” He says he must do this in training where “you have to give everything and earn it.”

Origi is 100% correct, and it genuinely seems to be much more than politically correct talk. Origi knows there are no more cup games for the Anfield club. He’s done incredibly well in the cups in his time already, so that is a bit of a blow.

But the thing about Origi is that he has to be a little more consistent in his play. That’s the only thing keeping him out. It’s not his work rate, his pace, or his finishing in general. He has all of the tools, he just doesn’t always play well. But he does work hard.

This reminds of another player. Remember Origi’s importance toward the end of last season until he was hacked over by Funes Mori? And remember his five game streak in this season? He’s an awful lot like Chicharito, and that might just be the way he always is: streaky!
