Monterrey vs Pachuca Liga MX – Watch Live Online, TV Schedule February 18, 2017

Monterrey

In one of the best match-ups of this week 7 of the Liga MX Clausura 2017, Monterrey will host Pachuca at the Estadio BBVA Bancomer this Saturday, February 18, 2017 (5:00 PM Pacific). Both teams are among the top five teams of this Clausura 2017 after six weeks of play, which should make for a great game.

Monterrey is one of two teams who is undefeated so far in this Clausura 2017 tournament. in their latest game the ‘rayados’ beat Pumas UNAM impressively 2-0, at home. It was Antonio Mohamed’s first victory since week 1 of the competition, a string of four consecutive ties following that week 1 game against Puebla. The ‘regios’ have been solid in this tournament, but are not playing up to their potential, gaining points that could have been three points.

Dorlan Pabon has easily been the best player on Mohamed’s side as Pabon is not only the top goal-scorer on the team, but in the league with already four on the Clausura. The Colombian forward has even missed a few clear opportunities that could have made his sum even more impressive. Overall, though Pabon has been as clinical as it comes in the Liga MX, taking advantage of most opportunities.

Antonio Mohamed has an impressive team with Pabon being the standout in attack and Jesus Molina leading the team in the midfield with a 70.7 percent pass accuracy and 66.3 kilometers covered. At 19-years-old the standout in defense for the ‘rayados’ has been Cesar Montes with 128 balls recovered on the tournament. Monterrey has enough depth and quality to be a serious title contender this Clausura and a win against Pachuca will be a big step in the right direction.

Pachuca is another team who is looking at a run at some silverware this Clausura with an impressive roster and good management under Diego Alonso. Hirving Lozano is still the top goal-scorer on the club with his week 1 hat-trick against Leon, but Franco Jara is not far behind with two on the Clausura. Jara is looking like the main goal-scorer on the team, with his ability to get in the right position to put the ball in the back of the net.

The main play-maker on the team has been Uruguayan forward, Jonathan Urretaviscaya with four assists on the Clausura. The standout defenseman for the ‘tuzos’ has been Colombian, Oscar Murillo who has scored a goal and has recovered the ball 140 times this tournament. Diego Alonso’s men will have a tough task in the northern side of Mexico against Monterrey, the match should be a thriller for this week 7 of play.
