Manuel Lanzini speaks about potential West Ham exit

West Ham United star Manuel Lanzini has confirmed that he would one day like to return to his boyhood club River Plate in Argentina.

Many have expected the 24-year-old to fill in the hole left by the departure of Dimitri Payet to Marseille and the player has not disappointed, notching two goals and three assists during the Hammers last five matches.

Should he continue displaying this pattern of form, West Ham may have to deal with inquiries from other clubs for his signature.

During his interview with TyC Sports, Lanzini did confirm his intentions to return to River Plate in the future, “Obviously projecting into the future is difficult because you never know, but I want to go back to the club where I was born, where I grew up and I’m a fan.”

Lanzini initially arrived at West Ham on loan from UAE club Al Jazira in the summer of 2015 and after impressing during his first season in England, his contract was made permanent with the Hammers having paid an estimated £9 million.
