West Ham United winger Michail Antonio is hoping to be recalled to the England national team by Gareth Southgate.
Antonio was been one of the best players for the Hammers this season and is the clubs top goal scorer with eight goals.
Though Antonio was called up by former Sam Allardyce for the match against Slovakia in September, he was for Gareth Southgate’s first match the following month.
Though Antonio has not yet featured for the Three Lions, he claims to have been happy to have been part of the setup.
The 26 year old played well during the Hammers’ 2-2 draw with West Brom on Saturday demonstrating his versatility and he certainly with have bolstered his chances of being selected for England’s upcoming games especially with Southgate in attendance.
“I am going to keep playing my game and if I get called up it will be great. I am not going to let it affect me and if the manager feels I have done enough he will name me in the squad,” said Antonio ahead of England’s March dates with Germany and Lithuania.
