West Ham chief does not want international recognition for his own player

Co-owner of West Ham, David Sullivan has expressed his hope that Andy Carroll does not get recalled by England next month.

The impressive recent form of Carroll has prompted speculation that he will be recalled to the England national team, with national team manager Gareth Southgate in attendance for West Ham’s League game against West Brom on Saturday which Carroll did not feature in.

Sullivan is certainly impressed with the form of the Hammers forward, however it is understandable as to why he does not hope for Carroll to be recalled by the three Lions.

Carroll is injury prone and various setbacks over the years have halted his form and consistency on the pitch.

According to the Mirror, Sullivan said, “There has been talk of him being called up by England again, but I’m going to be politically incorrect and say I hope he isn’t included. It is important that Andy gets good rest periods in between his games for West Ham.”
