Leeds Utd eyeing ambitious signing from rivals Huddersfield

Championship side Leeds United are planning to raid their promotion and local rivals Huddersfield for their youngster Jack Boyle.

According to Adam Pope of BBC, the young midfielder is currently training with the Whites ahead of a possible move.

Pope revealed that Boyle played for Leeds U23 side in the 4-3 defeat to Sheffield United counterparts on Monday evening. However, the youngster is still under contract with Huddersfield.

This news followed the movement of former Leeds Utd youth striker Frank Mulhern in the opposite direction. The 19-year-old played for Terriers U23 side in the game against Crewe earlier this week following the expiration of his contract with Leeds.

Boyle joined the Terriers’ youth academy at the U-10 level, and he has progressed through the youth ranks at the club.

He is a versatile attacking player and can play on either wing or as an attacking midfielder. Fifth-placed Leeds trail their fourth-placed neighbours by a solitary point in the Championship table.
