Chelsea maintained their relentless pursuit for the Premier League title with a very comfortable 3-1 victory over fierce rivals Arsenal last weekend and as well ending the Gunners’ title aspirations with the win, the Blues managed to extend their lead at the top of the table to nine points.
Manager Antonio Conte will undoubtedly want his side to continue their fine run of form for as long as possible but the clash against a strong Burnley side away from home this weekend looks set to be a tricky one.
Here is the strongest possible Chelsea lineup for the clash against Burnley –
Goalkeeper
Although Chelsea managed a very comfortable victory over Arsenal, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was called into action a couple of times and it has to be said that the Belgian international made a number of quality saves.
Up against a dangerous Burnley attack, Courtois will surely have to be on his guard once again and the match should be another good test for the young goalkeeper.
Defence
The trio of Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta have proven to be a pillar of strength at the back for Chelsea and Conte will surely continue with the same formidable backline this weekend, as Kurt Zouma and John Terry provide backup.
The wing back positions will be occupied by the dynamic duo of Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses, and the two players will be crucial going forward as well as at the back.
Midfield
Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante are the other two members of the Chelsea squad that look irreplaceable and are set to start at the middle of the park once again. That said Cesc Fabregas will also be pushing for a start following his impressive cameo against Arsenal.
Eden Hazard will be raring to go once again following his brilliant performance last weekend while Pedro and Willian will be battling it out for the starting spot in the other side of the wing.
Attack
Diego Costa has been on a bit of a goal drought over the past two weeks and he will surely be desperate to getting back to his scoring ways on Sunday.
