According to Sunderland star Jermain Defoe, Sunderland boss David Moyes was “over the moon” with the Black Cats first half performance against Crystal Palace.
During the match, the 34-year-old veteran netted twice in the space of two minutes to inspire hope that his team can avoid relegation this season. Lamine Kone and Didier N’dong also scored to lead Sunderland to a 4-0 win.
Despite Sunderland winning by a big scoreline, the win was not exactly easy for them as Palace tested the defense throughout the second half as they tried to find a way back into the game.
Given that Sunderland are going through a difficult period and won by such a big margin, it is understandable as to why Moyes may be over the moon.
The team have also not been playing with the highest of confidence throughout the season and maybe the win in addition to the hard fought draw against Tottenham last week will inspire confidence within the team.
