West Ham manager Slaven Bilic was delighted with the performances of new signing Robert Snodgrass and midfielder Pedro Obiang after his team clinched a 3-1 win against Southampton at St Mary’s.
Bilic said when assessing the performance of Snodgrass, “He was brilliant. Great vision, right foot, left foot, he is very good. He worked the space well but his work rate was fantastic.”
Southampton’s new acquisition Manolo Gabbiadini gave his team the lead, but for the Saints that was as good as it got.
Goals from Andy Caroll, Obiang and captain Mark Noble sealed the three points for the hammers and left the manager delighted.
For West Ham, this match provided much needed relief after they were hammered 4-0 by Manchester City during midweek.
On Obiang’s performance, the West Ham boss added, “Pedro should shoot more, he has that in himself. He changed the momentum for us and it was just a great day all around.”
