In one of the best matchups in week 5 of the Liga MX Clausura 2017 Tigres UANL will host Toluca at the Estadio Universitario this Saturday, February 5, 2017. (5:00 PM Pacific). Both teams have very strong sides which should make for a great game at ‘el volcan’.
Ricardo Ferretti’s side are coming from a shocking 1-0 loss to Chiapas in week 4 of the competition at the Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna. Earlier in the season the felines also surprisingly fell 2-0 against Atlas at the Estadio Jalisco. The team from Nuevo Leon has been undefeated at home, however, with a 1-1 draw to Santos Laguna in week 1 of the tournament and a big 4-2 win over Club America in week 3 of the competition. Just recently the Northern-Mexican side brought defender, Luis Advincula and forward, Eduardo Vargas to strengthen their already imposing team. It will be interesting to see if ‘el tuca’ does decide to utilize the new signings in this upcoming match against Hernan Cristante and Toluca.
The ‘diablos’ currently find themselves in fourth place in the Clausura 2017 with seven points up to this point of the competition. The team lead by the former goalkeeper, Hernan Cristante is coming off an unjust 0-0 draw where they were obviously the more dominant team, with several goal-scoring opportunities throughout the encounter. Toluca has only managed to get one point and no goals in the last two jornadas which should motivate the team to perform in this important match against Tigres UANL.
The key player to watch for the ‘chorizeros’ in the match will be Colombian striker, Fernando Uribe, who has had several chances to score in this Clausura, but has only scored once in week 1 against Atlas. The match should be hard-fought and a must watch for this week 5 of the Liga MX Clausura 2017.
