Confirmed: Leeds United complete major agreement for 25-year-old

Pontus Jansson has committed his long term future to Leeds United and is said to remain with the club at least until the summer of 2020, as reported by the Daily Mail. Jansson is currently still affiliated to Torino but will become a permanent Leeds United player at the end of the season.

Since arriving at Leeds, the 25-year-old has been in impressive form for Leeds and is set to play a key role in the clubs quest for promotion to the Premier League. Jansson’s resolute defending this season has helped Leeds to be in the running for promotion.

The Swedish international has made 23 appearances for the club this season and also proven that he can score goals as he did during Leeds 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.

Jansson has admitted that manager Gary Monk’s presence was a factor in his decision to commit to  Leeds, he said, “Yes [I knew that I wanted to be at this club for many years], actually from the first day.

“I had a good feeling when I came here. Garry [Monk] remembered me from when he was at Swansea and I was at Malmo and we played against them.”
