Two Players Leeds United Must Sign and One They Must Keep

Leeds vs Port Vale

Leeds United are on the cusp of finally returning to the Barclay’s Premier League for the first time since 2004.  Leeds are currently in third place, chasing behind front-runners Brighton and Newcastle for the two automatic promotion places.  Third place is great, but they will be desperate to try and avoid the playoffs at all costs.  Third place rarely counts for very much when the promotion playoffs begin.  They are quite a ways back at a seven point deficit, so it will take something pretty extraordinary to do it.  Here are some signings that would help them reach the top two.

3 Fabian Delph

It’s long been rumored that Delph would move back to his former club, but making it a reality would really help emphasize how serious Leeds are.  Delph’s career has stalled out since moving to Manchester City for essentially the reason that he’s English.  The central midfielder could bring just the right amount of pace and guile to Leeds that they need to haul back the leaders.

2 Chris Wood

This one isn’t a signing, it’s a statement of intent.  Leeds United must keep hold of Chris Wood in order to keep the players and fans high on confidence.  Wood has 20 goals to his name already this season, and he’s been linked with a move to China and to a couple of Premier League outfits.  Without him, the goals could dry up, and Leeds would have to find another linchpin up top.

1 Angel Rangel

One area in which Leeds could do with a little bit of strengthening is at right back. So Garry Monk could swoop for a former player and teammate in right back Angel Rangel, who did not start at the weekend for the Swans.  Rangel provides a solid presence and can go forward into the attack very well.
