Four Players West Ham Must Sign Before Transfer Deadline Day

Wikipedia - Hilton Teper

West Ham United have experienced massive growing pains this season upon moving into their new Olympic Stadium home ground.  In the last season at the Boleyn Ground, they were fantastic.  Dimitri Payet was on fire scoring seemingly every free kick and making a number of goals from corners.  He’s now apparently headed for the exit door, and West Ham are left to try and pick up the pieces now.  With a slight uptick in form of late, the Hammers appear to be safe from the drop.  They are also out of the cup, so much of their play for the remainder of the season will be for pride and in preparation for next season.  Here are some suggestions for signings:

4 Robert Snodgrass

The Hull City winger is seemingly headed for signing with the Hammers, but West Ham really need to push this one through. If Payet is leaving, West Ham need to replace his threat.  Snodgrass is very comparable to Payet.  He’s very good from set pieces and he can play on either wing.  The only difference is that he’s left footed, but that’s a benefit rather than a detriment.

3 Cesc Fabregas

This deal would have seemed very unlikely a couple of seasons ago, but it appears that both sides need one another. Cesc clearly loves London, and he’ll not be wanted back at Barcelona.  So West Ham would be a good fit for the midfielder who is exceptional at passing the ball. West Ham need a man in the middle to run matches, and they should have no problem finding enforcers to protect him.

2 Mathieu Debuchy

Another man that’s close by, this time at Arsenal, could help fill in a big hole for West Ham. With the signing of Jose Fonte, they look much better in the central part of defense.  But they need help at right back, especially if Michail Antonio is going to be played up front.  So, Debuchy can come in and fill in quite capably as a modern full back for the Hammers.

1 Anthony Knockaert

An unlikely signing to happen would be the one of Anthony Knockaert. The Frenchman has been in phenomenal form at Brighton this season, and he will be feeling confident of helping his side gain promotion. But West Ham could do well with a goal scoring winger that can provide as well.  With a small frame, he could fit in very well on either side of the pitch.
