With the next four matches in Anfield, a victory against last-place Swansea side would be the perfect way for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool to get back on track.
Swansea have conceded as many goals as Liverpool have scored this season in the Premier League. With that in mind, many Liverpool players should be able to return to playing close to the form that they had earlier in the year.
Goalkeeper
Simon Mignolet played very well against Manchester United and he is rapidly making the case for him to continue being the primary goalkeeper for the rest of the season.
Right-Back
Trent Alexander-Arnold may get his second Premier League start but he should have a much easier time than in his last match.
Center-Backs
Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan will continue to start as long as Joel Matip is out. While Fernando Llorente is not the same caliber of player as someone like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Spaniard’s height makes him capable of knocking down balls for his teammates.
Left-Back
James Milner has become a defender who is more than capable of holding his own. While he can still be beat with speed, he should be able to keep whoever he faces from sending crosses in.
Midfield
Shutting down Gylfi Sigurdsson should be the priority for Adam Lallana, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum. If they succeed, the Reds should be able to dominate possession and the match.
Right Wing
Roberto Firmino has been nullified for much of the new year but it’s only a matter of time before he shows just how good of a player he is again.
Forward
Daniel Sturridge has come under fire yet again but this match is a great opportunity for him to get back in Klopp’s good graces. He still possesses the best pure finishing skill in the club.
Left Wing
Philippe Coutinho may be the one who helps Sturridge reach his peak again. Aside from Henderson, Coutinho knows the Englishman the best. Playing the two together may benefit not only them, but the whole team as well.
