Journalist believes Liverpool’s 27-year-old outcast would do well in MLS

Sturridge

Over at The Times, Paul Joyce has taken the time to chat with fans about various topics in the game of football. Among them is the idea that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could move to the LA Galaxy in MLS in the future.

With Sturridge featuring mainly as a fringe figure, Liverpool could be eager to cash in on the striker. Here are a couple reasons why MLS would be a terrible idea for Sturridge.

Many people don’t understand why the league has made it difficult for players to do well. For one, travel is ridiculous. Sometimes, even the closest of rivals requires air travel. There are no trains or bus rides. If there are, you’re traveling forever.

MLS also has turf fields and is a very physical league. To think that Sturridge could hold up very long would be crazy indeed. Jermain Defoe absolutely failed at Toronto in his stint, yet he’s done very well in England.

A much better idea would be for Sturridge to either stay and fight for his place, leave for a smaller English club, or move abroad to Italy.
