Brazillian side Flamengo are looking for reinforcements in an attempt to better their third place finish in the Brasileirao last season, and having failed to land Marinho and Cecilio Dominguez, have reportedly made “preliminary contact” about a loan move for Kenedy.
According to ESPN, the move will not come easily, as Kenedy’s camp reportedly believe that he currently is ready to convince Antonio Conte to play him regularly at Stamford Bridge.
Kenedy was expected to spend the entire season at Watford, but after a disappointing first half of the season, during which he made only one appearance for the Hornets, has returned to Chelsea. Last season, he made 20 matches in all competitions and showed flashes of brilliance, but it remains to be seen whether he forms part of Conte’s long term plans.
The Italian is reportedly looking to strengthen at wing-back and should he be unable to make signings, Kenedy may act as back-up for Victor Moses and Marcus Alonso. As of this moment, I see Kenedy staying at Chelsea to serve as backup, a loan move may happen if Conte fails to sign any other players in January.
