West Ham United close in on agreement for prolific winger

West Ham star winger Michail Antonio is ready to commit his long-term future to the club, according to reports from the Guardian.

The 26-year-old joined Slaven Bilic’s side for a transfer fee of around £7m from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2015.

He has been one of the key men in Bilic’s side since his arrival and has scored an impressive eight league goals this season. On the back of his performances for the Hammers, he was also called up by former England manager Sam Allardyce for the World Cup qualifier against Slovakia in August.

His performances this season saw him linked with a move to Chelsea and that has prompted the Hammers to be pro-active and offer the England international a new deal.

The Hammers have reportedly offered a new five-and-a-half-year deal to the player, and he is set to put pen-to-paper on the new deal. The new contract will double Antonio’s weekly wages from £35,000 to £70,000.
