Chelsea target delivers positive response to speculation linking him to Stamford Bridge

Michael Keane is said to be “flattered” by transfer rumors linking him to Chelsea.  After impressive form which led to a call up to the England team, Keane was reportedly linked with moves to Stoke City as well as Premier League Champions Leicester City.

He is however a target of Antonio Conte.  ‘It’s nice to see,’ the former Manchester United defender told the Lancashire Telegraph (via the Daily Mail) when asked about rumours linking him with a move away from Turf Moor.

“It wouldn’t happen if you weren’t playing well. But I don’t let it affect me at all, it doesn’t affect me going into matchday or going into training every day. I just get on with my football. I’m really happy here at Burnley, but it is flattering to see.”

Should Keane be transferred, his former club Manchester United will be set to benefit from the transfer sum. According to the Daily Mail, United are set to gain 5% of whatever Burnley end of selling Keane for, which is expected to be £5 million from a £20 million deal.
