Manchester United star, Antonio Valencia will be staying at Old Trafford for another year after signing on a one-year contract extension.

The revised deal will see the ex-Wigan player stay at Old Trafford till 2018, after Fellaini has also signed for a contract extension.

The winger has been an important player for Manchester United after moving from Wigan Athletic in 2009, and he has been successful in establishing himself as the key player. No wonder why he has more than 250 competitive appearances for the Manchester side.

Jose Mourinho has given 23 appearances to the winger, and now has ensured he stays for another 12 months. Mourinho, who’s 9-match winning streak came to an end after 1-1 classic draw with Liverpool on Sunday, has never been silent about how much he admires the 31-year-old.

He told MUTV in November: “I tried to sign Antonio a number of years ago, when I was at [Real] Madrid.

“Even though he was not playing right-back at the time, I thought he could be phenomenal in that position. As it was, United told me ‘no chance!’.

It is expected to see some more contract extensions for Manchester United players by the end of the season, otherwise there will be a huge shuffle in the summer transfer window.
