Despite Diego Costa’s impressive form this season, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte reportedly does not view him as his ideal striker and is reportedly interested in signing Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid to replace Costa.
Conte has made an example of the striker after reported bad behavior. Costa was left out of the squad that won 3-0 against Leicester, amid rumors that he had a bust up with one of the backroom staff at Chelsea and is interested in a potential move to the Chinese Super League.
The Daily Telegraph reports Costa’s team mates have told him to apologize. The Sun report that Conte told him that he can go to China with Tianjin Quanjian hovering around with a reported £80 million bid.
While Conte is happy with the form of the 28 year old, he does not see him as a long term solution due to his age and temperament.
