Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly planning on revamping his defence and is set to recall Andreas Christensen to Stamford Bridge as a replacement for John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic, who are both expected to leave, according to the Metro.
The Italian spent £120 million during his first summer at the club and has impressed many by guiding Chelsea to the top of the Premiership table. He also guided the Blues to 13 straight wins over the past 3 months.
David Luiz, who rejoined from PSG during the summer, has thrived under the 3-4-3 system which Conte uses at Chelsea. However, veterans Terry (36) and Ivanovic (32) who are both seemingly beyond their prime are expected to leave the club.
Christensen has been on loan with Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach for the past 18 months and the 20-year-old has impressed by helping the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Conte is reportedly impressed by the youngster and wishes to bring him back next season.
