5 Things Tottenham Must do to Win the Premier League

Tottenham destroyed WBA this weekend and they are now in a streak of six victories in the Premier League. It seems they finally found their form and they have a slight advantage over the teams directly below them. However, the battle for the title is fierce and Tottenham will have to work very hard to overcome Chelsea and fight off other contender. Here are the 5 things Tottenham must do to win the Premier League:

5 Include More Players In the Squad Rotation

On paper, Tottenham perhaps have the weakest bench out of all teams that are fighting for a spot in the Champions League, but Pochettino doesn’t rotate his players enough nonetheless. Five outfield players missed only one match this season and that number would have been even bigger if Alderweireld and Kane weren’t injured in the beginning of the season. Tottenham failed to keep up with Leicester in the end of the season in part because their best players were too tired.

4 Buy A Backup Defender In January

Tottenham had a slower start of the season because Alderweireld was injured. Kevin Wimmer simply doesn’t have a quality to replace either of the Belgian centre backs, so Tottenham should try to find a replacement until the end of the transfer window.

3 Buy A Backup Attacker In January

Vincent Janssen failed to rise up to the expectations. The young Dutch international scored only one goal in 15 matches in the league and Tottenham should opt for somebody more experienced until the end of the season and give Janssen another chance next year.

2 Revitalize Eriksen

Right after he arrived from Ajax four years ago, Eriksen became the best Tottenham player. However, after two fantastic years, Eriksen failed to deliver last year and many believe that his pale performances are the main reason why Tottenham failed to win the Premier League. He is slightly better in this season, but Tottenham needs the “old” Eriksen to finish in the top four.

1 Win Against Direct Opponents

The most important thing for Tottenham is to record victories against their direct opponents. In the forthcoming several weeks, they will visit Manchester City and Liverpool and after those matches it will become clear whether they have the strength to win the EPL title or now.
