Xolos vs America
Xolos - Estadio Caliente

Week 2 of the Liga MX Clausura 2017 will begin with the Xolos of Tijuana vs Puebla match this Friday, January 13, 2017 (7:00 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Caliente. Both teams were defeated during their first match showing that a great match will be played in the border city as each side will desperately attempt to earn their first points of the young season.

The team coached by Miguel Herrera lost several important players to transfers during the short winter off-season. The most notable of them was Gabriel Hauche who was instrumental in forming the attack which allowed Xolos to finish in first place last Apertura 2016. During last week’s loss against Monarcas Morelia another farewell became imminent as goal leading striker Dayro Moreno was absent from the squad.

The Colombian star recently signed a loan deal with Colombia’s Atletico Nacional meaning Club Tijuana will play Friday’s match without two of the most important members throughout the previous calendar year. ‘Piojo’ has no other option than to play with the players on hand and he hopes that an attack led by Aviles Hurtado along with the home-stadium support will be enough to defeat the visiting Puebla.

Puebla suffered a heartbreaking 2-3 loss at home last week against Rayados of Monterrey. In an exciting match, the ‘camoteros’ could hold-off against the visitor’s dynammic offense in a season extremely important to fight against relegation. This Friday, the team coached by Ricardo Valiño will face another difficult match as the visit Xolos who was one of the strongest home teams last season.
