According to a report in the Express, Stoke City may have to fight off other sides in an attempt to capture Saido Berahino in this transfer window. With West Brom and Tony Pulis becoming more and more desperate to get as much as possible for the English striker before his contract runs out, the carousel is seemingly spinning out of control.
We had reported that Stoke wanted to bring in Berahino, but that they could potentially wait. However, now it is being said that Sam Allardyce and Crystal Palace are wanting to get involved. Apparently, Big Sam is not big fan of Christian Benteke, despite the obscene amount of money that is being paid for him.
The thought is that Pulis is interested in a swap deal for the big man that would see Berahino go the other way. This would be an incredible move that would undercut Stoke City, who have been told that they can have Berahino for £14m right now.
What a ridiculous amount of jockeying we have here. With something like this, it’s just too hard to call. Berahino, obviously, is not going to be at West Brom for much longer. But goodness, we just hope it sure gets over with sooner than later.
