The spotlight continues to be on and around, Hirving Lozano from Club Pachuca. During the Club Leon vs Club Pachuca game last Saturday, a controversial moment was raised between Lozano and Leon defender Diego Novaretti. It appeared as if the Argentine defender spit on the Mexican winger, even though it is unclear from the footage. Lozano’s initial reaction was a shoulder towards Novaretti, which earned him no consequences.
Initially Club Leon captain Mauro Boselli had said that no such incident existed and that Novaretti would not get suspended. Boselli proved to be wrong as his teammate Novaretti now faces a six game suspension for being guilty of such repulsive act. Apart from the suspension, Novaretti will also face a fine of $33,970 pesos.

The fine is rather harsh as it is unclear whether Novaretti spit on Hirving Lozano. Spitting however, is a clear infringement of the rule book as stated on Article 17 Numeral three. Leon will be without the Argentine defender until February 25 when they face Atlas F.C. at the Estadio Jalisco.
For now, Club Leon do have an experienced backup for Novaretti in Juan Ignacio Gonzalez. “Nacho” has been with the club since 2010 and has even captained “La Fiera” in the past. Gonzalez will have to partner with Guillermo Burdisso in the coming weeks for Leon, during Novaretti’s absence.
