Chivas of Guadalajara owner, Jorge Vergara, has never been shy of expressing his opinion and talking about his team or his rivals. We have seen it countless of times over the years making Vergara the topic of controversy. Well, it looks like for this Liga MX Clausura 2017 season we will not get any controversy or any statements for that matter from the owner of Chivas.

In a recent letter addressed to the media Vergara says, “I am conscious of the interest that exists to be in frequent contact with me about topics concerning the club, however, I want it to be known that I will not be attending any interviews during the Clausura 2017, instead until the tournament is over.”

This did come as a shock as Chivas are currently in one of the best states they have ever been. Matias Almeyda is doing a magnificent job as their manager and they also possess one of the strongest midfields in all Liga MX. The signing of Rodolfo Pizarro from Pachuca F.C. has only solidified the team even more for this tournament added to players like Orbelin Pineda, or Alan Pulido.

It remains to be seen whether Vergara will use Twitter this season as an avenue to talk about his club as he has done in the past. Hopefully he does to add a bit more excitement to this Clausura 2017 as his controversies are always a way put spice into the league.
