Carlos Adrian Morales – Liga MX Clausura 2017 Week 1 Goal of the Week

The first week of the Liga MX Clausura 2017 is now over. There were several amazing games and even more amazing goals. Adrian Aldrete scored a spectacular goal in Cruz Azul’s 1-0 win over Necaxa. The Pachuca vs Leon game was filled with many great goals in which Hirving Lozano scored a hat-trick for the ‘tuzos’ each being a gem.

But the one goal that really stands out to me was by Carlos Adrian Morales in the Monarcas Morelia vs Xolos of Tijuana game. “Carlitos”is a man who would ‘die’ for his team. We even saw the veteran defender break into tears last year when his team lost a game against Pumas UNAM.

Carlos shows the same passion for Morelia that his brother, Ramon had for Chivas. In a wa, he reminded us of Ramon with the spectacular goal that he scored against Xolos. The 37-year old defensive-winger received the ball near the left wing on Tijuana’s side of the pitch, dropped the ball perfectly with his head, and dribbled it in a straight line. Instead of passing it to Rodolfo Vilchis who was wide open, Carlos Adrian decided to take a shot. The shot was an absolute bullet with his right foot (his weak foot) and made it right into the upper right-hand corner of Tijuana’s net.

Neither Gianluigi Buffon nor Manuel Neuer could have stopped that shot. From the moment the sphere was launched from Carlos’ right foot, it was like a heat-seeking missile that was destined for the back of the net. We saw some amazing golazos this week but none like the one that Carlos Adrian Morales gave us.
