The Sun have reported that Steven N’Zonzi might be one of the first players to be signed by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola this January and that he is preparing to pay £25m for the player.
The 28 year old midfielder, who played for Stoke and Blackburn, is perhaps the ideal candidate since Fernandinho is banned for at least 3 games while Ilkay Gundogan is out with injury.
According to Who Scored, N’Zonzi is a defensive midfielder who is great at aerial duels and has high levels of pass completion (89.9% for 21 games).
His style of play is centered on short passes and he does not dive into tackles. Apparently, one of his weakness is that he is inadequate in tackling but that can be improved.
In addition, he was listed in UEFA Europa League Squad of the Season: 2015–16 by UEFA.
Overall, I think that N’Zonzi is a good fit for Manchester City. What do you think my fellow Citizens?
