With the departure of heroic villain Rubens Sambueza and the probable sale of Darwin Quintero, Liga MX’s Club America is rumored to be interested in the signing of Argentine Sebastian Blanco. The signing of the 28 year old San Lorenzo attacking midfielder will fill the hole left by Sambueza who recently transferred to Toluca, plus reinforce a midfield in what will be America’s title hopes in 2017.
Club America had difficulty signing Aviles Hurtado from Xolos of Tijuana earlier this week who would have been an outstanding addition to that team’s attacking midfield. Nonetheless, if signed, Blanco has a strong resume which includes playing in Ukraine and briefly in the Premier League and would be an important addition to Ricardo La Volpe’s title hopes.
The start of the Clausura 2017 is fast approaching and the team from ‘coapa’ has already signed goalkeepers Agustin Marchesin and Oscar Jimenez plus Cristhian Paredes from Paraguay. With one month left in the international signing season, it will interested to note how many more players the Aguilas are linked to.
