Report: Arsenal star keen to join Manchester City

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin wants to be reunited with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, according to the Times.

The report suggests Arsenal have offered Bellerinto double his £50,000-a-week wages in a new 5-year contract, but the Spaniard could decide to turn down the offer in order to secure a move to Manchester City.

Barcelona are also believed to be interested in bringing the 21-year-old back to the Camp Nou, but the player is thought to prefer a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Bellerin left Barcelona for Arsenal as a 16-year-old in 2011 and has since established himself as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League.

He made his debut for the Spanish national team earlier this year and has made 1 assist in 9 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal so far this season.

Bellerin’s contract with Arsenal expires in the summer of 2019, which puts the Gunners in a strong position to keep him at the Emirates Stadium.

It would be a big blow for Arsenal to lose Bellerin, especially to a direct rival for the Premier League title.

Even if Bellerin chooses to leave the Gunners, Wenger is unlikely to agree to let him join Manchester City, which could be good news for Barcelona.
