Chivas Probable Lineup vs Morelia: Pulido to Lead Attack in 4-2-2-2

Chivas just played and defeated Morelia on Tuesday in the Copa MX, with their B team no less.  The whole team has had a lot of rest since the Copa squad featured no players from last Friday’s match vs Veracruz.

Expect Chivas to play for another win, as they will be confident coming off of their victory over Monarcas just a few days ago.

Goalkeeper: Rodolfo Cota

Cota has been a strong force for Chivas this year with 6 clean sheets this season.  He has played every game for Guadalajara this Apertura, so there is no reason he shouldn’t play on Saturday.

Left Back: Edwin Hernández

Hernández has been a solid force at left back all year long.  He was taken out for Chofis against Veracruz, but expect him to play the whole match this weekend.

Center Backs: Carlos Salcido and Hedgardo Marín

This young-and-old tandem have worked well together in the past, and they are both a big part of the reason that Chivas are tied for 3rd in goals against.

Right Back: Jesús García

García has gotten the call time and time again this season, and is capable of playing forward as more of a wing-back.  His game fits with Chivas’ style and you can expect him to contribute for the full 90 minutes.

Left-Center Mid: Michael Pérez

Pérez, like the rest of the team, has had over a week off, and as such should be in Matías Almeyda’s plan.

Right-Center Mid: Orbelín Pineda

The youngster is a lock to start.  He has started every league match since he joined Guadalajara following the 2015 Apertura.

Attacking Left Mid: Ángel Zaldívar

Zaldívar didn’t have a very good game against Veracruz, but if Almeyda wasn’t going to start him he likely would have given him more than five minutes in the midweek cup match.

Attacking Right Mid: Isaac Brizuela

Brizuela has failed to follow up on his stellar performance vs América, but he has still had a breakout year.

Strikers: Nestor Calderón and Alan Pulido

Pulido may have just arrived at Chivas, but he has already become a permanent fixture in the lineup.  Calderón has performed very well of late, and scored the lone goal against Morelia on Tuesday.
