Barcelona square off against new boys Leganes at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque on Saturday and one can be sure that the Catalan giants will be desperate to claim the three points from the encounter.
Barcelona suffered their first defeat of the season after being overturned by Deportivo Alaves at the Nou Camp last week and the result would most certainly have been very disappointing for manager Luis Enrique as he had entrusted faith in a lot of fringe players for the clash.
Reeling from the defeat, Barcelona managed to put in a stunning performance in the Champions League to claim a 7-0 victory over Celtic on Tuesday night and now the Catalans will be to desperate bounce back in La Liga as well when they face Leganes.
Here is the strongest possible Barcelona lineup for the clash against Celtic –
Goalkeeper
Jasper Cillessen was handed a start against Alaves last week and while the Dutchman was not at fault for the goals Barcelona conceded, it is widely expected that number one choice Marc-Andre ter Stegen will be returning to goal this weekend.
Defence
The likes of Lucas Digne, Jeremy Mathieu, Javier Mascherano and Aleix Vidal all started in the clash against Alaves but it has to be said that none of the aforementioned players performed particularly well during the encounter.
As a result, the backline that started against Celtic consisting of Jordi Alba, Samuel Umtiti, Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto all look set to be named in the starting eleven on Saturday as well.
Midfield
Star summer signing Andre Gomes was handed a start against Celtic and it has to be said that the Portuguese international performed very well on the night.
With Andres Iniesta currently nursing himself back to full fitness, there is a possibility that Gomes could continue in the lineup ahead of Denis Suarez. Accompanying Gomes at the middle of the park will be the duo of Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic.
Attack
The brilliant attacking trio of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar were in scintillating form against Celtic and the trio will most certainly be looking to continue their fine run of form against Leganes on Saturday as well.
