Agent of Manchester United man claims club wants his client to stay

Marcos Rojo’s agent, Carlos Gonçalves, has said Manchester United had rejected multiple offers from clubs from England and abroad for his client as the Red Devils want the Argentinian to remain at Old Trafford this summer.

Rojo has been heavily linked with a move away from United ever since Mourinho took charge of the 20-time English champions at the end of May, but Gonçalves claims the club has no intention of the 26-year-old leave.

“Manchester United rejected several offers from England and from abroad to sell the player,” Gonçalves told Sport Witness. “Manchester United want him to stay.”

Valencia are believed to be keen to sign the Argentinian international as a replacement for Shkodran Mustafi, but it appears as though he’ll stay at Old Trafford at least until January.

Rojo is yet to play a single minute under Jose Mourinho this term and it’s obvious he isn’t an essential part of the Portuguese manager’s plans.

However, United will soon enter the domestic cups and Europa League, so even the team’s fringe players will get plenty of chances to impress.

United need squad depth this season and keeping a versatile defender like Rojo at the club could be a smart move.
