Report: Manchester United not expected to make any more signings

Manchester United are not expected to bring any more new players to Old Trafford this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

However, the newspaper goes on to suggest things could change if the right player becomes available before the end of the month.

United have been heavily linked with a move for Southampton centre-back Jose Fonte in the past few weeks, but the report suggests the club doesn’t plan on making more additions to the squad this summer.

The Red Devils are believed to be delighted with their transfer business in this transfer window.

The club is expected to focus its efforts on trimming the existing squad as Jose Mourinho likes to work with a smaller group of players.

Januzaj, Varela, McNair, Love, Valdes and Powell have all departed club in this transfer window and more fringe players are being tipped to leave either on loan or permanently.

Given the injury problems of Rojo and Jones, United could probably do with another centre-back this summer.

That being said, there are plenty of talented youngsters at the club such as Axel Tuanzebe, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and RoShaun Williams, who are all capable of doing a job in case one of the senior centre-backs is unavailable for selection.
