Reported Arsenal target, Riyad Mahrez has signed a new deal with Leicester City according ESPNFC (via an official report from Leicester City).
The new agreement is reportedly a four year deal that will pay Mahrez around £100,000 per week.
Arsenal had reportedly been trying to sign Mahrez for most of the summer transfer window, but now that he has signed an extension with Leicester City that no longer seems to be a possibility.
Mahrez would have been a fantastic signing for Arsenal, as he had a fantastic year last season en route to the PFA Player of the Year award. He scored 17 goals with 11 assists to help Leicester City win the English Premier League title last season.
With acquiring Mahrez now out of the question, Arsenal will once again have to shift their attention elsewhere as they will miss out on yet another signing.
Arsenal will still be looking to add an attacking player (striker or winger) as well as a center back before the transfer window closes, but they are slowly running out of time.
