According to the Daily Star (via Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli) Arsenal are closing in on a deal that would send 24 year old Valencia center back Shkodran Mustafi to the Emirates.
The deal is reportedly worth £25.9 million, and it is possible that Mustafi could complete a medical with the Gunners as soon as Monday. It is worth noting that Mustafi has missed training this week due to a muscle strain.
If Arsenal could finalize a deal for Mustafi, he would be a much needed addition after injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel have left the Gunners thin at the center back position.
It seems that there is a good chance that Arsenal will finalize a deal for Mustafi within the coming days, but as always the transfer market is full of twists and turns and it is very difficult to know for sure what will and will not happen until everything is finalized.
