Report: Manchester City in the race for £16million-rated Argentine midfielder

Etihad

According to The Mirror, Manchester City must clash with Liverpool, Juventus, and Monaco for the signing of £16m valued Argentinian midfielder, Leandro Paredes.

Team manager Pep Guardiola continues to piece his English team together as he prepares for his first season with Manchester City. After moving to an already highly talented squad, the Spaniard is on the hunt for players that could give the club a third Premier League title.

22-year-old Paredes has spent this last year on loan playing for Italy’s Empoli, and is likely to leave Roma after only being with the team since July of 2015.

Roma signed Paredes for a minor £5m from Boca Juniors. Since the opening of the summer 2016 transfer window, Pep Guardiola has already signed Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan, and Oleksandr Zinchenko to be part of the heart of the team, so another midfield signing seems to be unlikely.

However, if the Blues are successful in bringing Paredes to England, the young Argentinian will have to prove his worth to find time on the pitch.

Paredes was only able to net two goals for Empoli in the 2015 after making a total of 33 appearances in all competitions.

Nonetheless, the appealing talent and skills the Argentinian has shown through his professional soccer career will catch the interest off all Manchester City fanatics.

Although Coach Guardiola has surpassed the £150m mark during the 2016 transfer window, the two time Champions League winner is not yet finished putting his newly appointed team together.

With the transfer window open until August 31st, Guardiola still has the opportunity to bring another midfielder to the Etihad Stadium.
