Blow as Real Madrid star to miss upcoming game, could miss more

According to AS, a Spanish sports newspaper, Karim Benzema won’t be available for the match against Chelsea on Saturday. After missing the previous PSG clash, the Frenchman is starting to worry coach Zinedine Zidane.

The #9 had the entire summer break to himself after he was left out of the France national team squad. However, it seems that after starting the American preseason tour, Karim has been struggling with physical problems.

This is a huge setback for Zidane, who was planning to use the new 4-4-2 system as much as possible before the UEFA Super Cup. He must now find an alternative as if his fellow compatriot won’t be available.

Morata will certainly remain part of the attack, while James, Jesé, Asensio, and some Castilla players would be the options for the second man.

The results on the American tour don’t really matter, yet it’s important for the manager to start seeing some positive aspects. The Super Cup is indeed the first official trophy of the year.

After the lineup for the Chelsea match is revealed, we’ll get a better sense of what Zizou’s idea for this trophy will be.
