Chelsea is reportedly lining up a bid for Benfica’s defender Victor Lindelöf. The 22-year-old Swede will cost Chelsea a whooping £25 million, which is his release clause amount, reports Mirror.

The Sweden defender has impressed many eyes around Europe, as even last season Manchester United came in hunting for the defender, but Benfica waved off any bid for their talented youngster.

Chelsea has fallen behind Manchester City to land a deal for Leonardo Bonucci, who will reportedly cost them £50 million. Also, their other defensive target, Kalidou Koulibaly, is targeted by rivals Everton and Bayern Munich, as the Senegalese defender has a price tag of £45 million.

In such a situation, signing Victor Lindelöf will be an amazing decision from the Blues’ side, as the player is one of the most talented defenders, having played in all the 3 matches for 270 minutes in the EURO 2016 for Sweden. Also, last season was a breakthrough season for him at Benfica and he made the most of it with impressive performances.
