Arsenal reportedly keen on a move for Napoli defender

Hysaj

Although the reports of Higuain going to Arsenal have died down, it is still possible that the Gunners could secure a different Napoli player during this transfer window.

Arsenal is reportedly interested in signing Napoli defender and Albanian international Elseid Hysaj for a fee worth around £15 million, according to footballfacts.com (via reports in Italy).

Hysaj started 37 games in Serie A for Napoli last season, but if he moves to Arsenal he would likely be used in more of a backup role to provide cover for Hector Bellerin.

Hysaj would be a useful player for Arsenal, as their depth in the defensive back four is somewhat scarce, especially with the uncertain future of right back Kieran Gibbs. Hysaj has proven he can play in Serie A, and he would fit in fine as part of Arsenal’s squad.

Hysaj is not going to command an enormous transfer fee, so it seems very possible that the Gunners could secure his signing during the summer transfer window.
