Arsenal are interested in signing Hoffenheim youngster Philipp Ochs, according to German news outlet BILD.
The report suggests the youngster’s impressive performances at the Under-19 European Championship in Germany have drawn the attention of Arsenal.
The English runners-up are believed to be prepared to make their move to sign the 19-year-old versatile attacker this summer.
Ochs, who has three more years on his contract with the German Bundesliga side, can play on either wing and up front.
He scored a hat-trick against Portugal Under-19 last week, but couldn’t help his country qualify for the Under-19 European Championship knockout stages.
The Wertheim-born player made 1 assist in 13 appearances for Hoffenheim’s first team last season.
Ochs could be tempted by a move to Arsenal this summer, but staying at Hoffenheim for at least another season would be the best option for him.
He’s still only 19 years old, so the most important thing for him would be to play regular first-team football in order to further his development.
Ochs would be a good signing for Arsenal as he’s a very talented player, but the English club has plenty of options in attack, so the German would be unlikely to feature much for Wenger’s team next season.
