Chelsea have been handed a boost in their hopes of securing the services of Gabriel Barbosa as the striker posts a farewell message on social media
With the future of Diego Costa currently in doubt, Chelsea are in the market to sign a new striker and a host of names have been linked with the Blues over the past few weeks.
Recently, the Daily Mirror had gone on to claim that Chelsea were monitoring Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Barbosa and that the Blues were ready to splash as much as £25 million in order to secure the services of the young star.
Barbosa is regarded as one of the most promising young players to have emerged from Brazil in recent times and the 19-year-old has already managed to establish himself in the Brazilian national team over the past six months or so.
Now as a huge boost to Chelsea’s hopes of securing the services of Barbosa, the youngster has gone on to hint that he has played his last game for current side Santos following the 3-1 victory over Ponte Preta.
Taking to social media website Instagram, the striker posted along with a picture, “My heart is in Alvinegro and it will always beat for you. Santos are my life. I will love you until death.”

While Barbosa’s admission is surely a huge boost, Chelsea will still have to stave off competition from the likes of Barcelona and Juventus to sign the teenage sensation.
